For more than 10 years I’ve been very interested in textiles, and they are present in a big part of my body of work.  I have experimented with both hand embroidery and machine sewing work.   Within the years I developed a way to use my sewing machine as a tool to draw with black thread on fabric. This technique has allowed me to take my illustrated work from the paper into fabric and transform the illustrations into an art object in the form of a doll or a textile collage.  I have specialized in Mexican themed dolls with my interpretation of Frida Kahlo and La Catrina.​ I started to experiment with hand embroidery on paper as well.  You can see all my works in textiles on my Portfolio.

I am currently focused on my children books and school visits, but I hope one day to have time to go back to my sewing machine!
